Nayrouz News Agency :
Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Culture and the Royal Film Commission of Jordan renewed a memorandum of understanding for the "Children's Film Caravan" project, with the aim of providing an opportunity for audiences of children aged 8-13 years in governorates where there are equipped cultural centers, to watch a variety of films of local, Arab or international productions.
The project contributes to promoting the creative ideas of this age group, encouraging them to dialogue and express their opinion on the topics raised by the films, by holding panel discussions after the screenings.
Culture Minister Haifa Al-Najjar, who signed the memorandum with the director general of the authority, Muhannad Al-Bakri, said that the ministry has a serious effort in filmmaking projects, noting the authority's role, achievements and work in the governorates, which will have a positive impact in the coming years.
She indicated that the renewal of the work in the memorandum comes after exiting from the repercussions of the Corona pandemic, pointing to the importance of cinema and films in refining the culture of individuals and building bridges of communication with different societies through the diverse content they provide.
She emphasized the project's role in providing a selection of films that help children be exposed to a different cultural experience.
For his part, Al Bakri stressed that the partnership between the authority and the ministry is strategic and has a long history, noting that the authority is always keen to provide programs that fit the reality of local communities and their culture.
He explained the importance of the economic return that Jordan achieves through the film industry, and it has become an effective economic sector, noting that filming many international films in Jordanian locations brought a great financial return to Jordan in addition to operating many different sectors.
