Yesterday, Friday, Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez sponsored the launch ceremony of the Jordanian-Mexican Friendship Association at the home of the Mexican ambassador in Amman, Roberto Hernandez, in the presence of a number of political, economic, diplomatic and media figures.
The President of the Friendship Association, former Minister of Culture, Dr. Barakat Awajan, stressed the importance of this association and its role in strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, noting that Mexico is one of the largest economies in the emerging world and ranks first in the Americas and fifth globally in terms of heritage sites.
He said that a symposium will be held on the relations between the two countries and the direction of establishing a Jordanian-Mexican business council to enhance joint cooperation.
For his part, the Mexican ambassador considered that this important initiative of establishing the Friendship Association will be a strong engine to strengthen and strengthen relations and knowledge of Mexican culture, which is an example of tolerance and stability.
And he indicated that the Jordanian-Mexico relations are witnessing a distinct and clear development, through unified positions and visions on many issues and matters, and the signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding in the cultural, economic, social, tourism and education fields, and agreements in their last stages in the field of cooperation in customs issues, air operation services, civil aviation and justice.
He added that the establishment of the Jordanian-Mexico Friendship Association comes as a consolidation and support for these relations, to form a bridge of communication and cooperation between the peoples of Jordan and Mexico, and to inform them about the culture and civilization of both countries and highlight them at all levels.
He explained that the association will have a role in developing and promoting joint projects, business opportunities, trade and investment between Jordan and Mexico and coordinating the establishment of exhibitions and economic seminars, pointing out that recently, memorandums of understanding were signed between the Jordan Businessmen Association and the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and their Mexican counterparts, and cultural, academic and scientific exchanges will be supported. By promoting bilateral agreements to exchange scholarships and scholarships for teaching and scientific research bodies, as coordination and cooperation between public and private Jordanian universities with Mexican universities is underway, supporting tourism and heritage promotion between the two countries and promoting tourism.
In turn, the society's secretary, historian Omar Al-Armouti, said that we will work through the association to increase trade exchange and cultural weeks and increase the number of Mexican tourists to Jordan, especially for religious tourism purposes.
For his part, Director of Media and Public Relations at the Mexican Embassy, Samer Al-Azza, indicated that in a stormy environment with wars, conflicts and turmoil and in an unstable political, economic and social environment, we see Jordan building bridges of love and peace, establishing friendships and deepening relations with all the peoples of the world and its countries, indicating that this meeting is a An embodiment of this generous, loving and cooperative Jordanian spirit stemming from the royal directives.
On the sidelines of the announcement, the Speaker of the Senate and former Prime Minister Taher Al-Masry, and a number of people who had an impact in strengthening relations between Jordan and Mexico, were honored.
