-Dear Ladies and Gentlemen.

.. I salute you in this gorgeous morning in Amman, and many thanks to the Jordanian Society for Culture and Sciences represented by its chairman His excellency Eng. Samir Al-Habashneh for holding this ceremony in the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Jordan and Azerbaijan … and in the occasion of releasing my book (Important Stop in the Jordanian-Azerbaijani Relations), so I say:

Azerbaijan is a friendly country to Jordan, where both countries are related closely in different fields. It was His Majesty King Hussain Bin Talal- may Allah rest his soul - who deepened the pillars of these relations with His Excellency the president of Azerbaijan Heyder Aliyev – may Allah rest his soul - … After that these relations continued forward in huge leaps until it became a role model to be followed by huge efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussain with his brother His Excellency the president Ilham Aliyev.

… What distinguishes these warm relations is clarity and honesty which were developed through exchanging visits among highest levels of government officials, beside the visits between His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussain and his brother His Excellency the president Ilham Aliyev … In addition to the coordination between the two countries and the mutual similarities between the two countries regarding the approach of the policy of moderation, fighting terrorism, the prevention of interference in the internal affairs of other countries, and the openness to the countries of the world, especially those related to the dialogue among cultures, dialogue among religions and the desire to follow civilization and modernity.

… One of the bright images of the close relations between the two countries is the signing of several agreements in various fields. I had the opportunity to travel five times to the Azerbaijani capital (Baku) to attend the Baku International Humanitarian Forum under the generous patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The second time was to attend the International Conference on Dialogue of Cultures and Civilizations, and the third time was to attend the ceremony of publishing the translation of my first book ‘The Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict and International Law’, and the fourth time was to attend the ceremony of publishing the translation of my second book on Jordanian-Azerbaijani relations, and the fifth time was about two years ago as an international observer for the Azerbaijani parliament elections.

… The capital, Baku, enchanted us with its breathtaking beauty and the kindness of its people, and the splendor of the marine carrier on the Caspian Sea and the beauty of buildings, squares and gardens, and the greatness of history that we witnessed by watching historical archaeological castles ... We also admired the great modernization that takes place in the capital with great efforts from officials in the municipality of Baku and the Ministry of Tourism and the government. 

… During the past years, I had the honor of preparing and writing a book entitled (The Nagoni-Karabakh Conflict and International Law from the Point of View of the Jordanian Writer and Historian Omar Muhammad Nazzal Al-Armouti)... bearing in consideration that the Nagorno-Karabakh crisis is the central issue of Azerbaijan.

… And now… After all these activities and direct knowledge of the bilateral relations between the two countries and participation in international conferences in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku... and continuous meetings with a number of senior Azerbaijani officials, from which I had the honor of greeting His Excellency the President of the Republic Ilham Aliyev... and the Vice President/First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva I felt that I could offer a modest service to the bilateral relations between the two countries through preparing and writing a book on Jordanian-Azerbaijani relations that includes the most prominent activities which took place in various fields, as well as general and useful information and touristic photos, so that this book becomes a reference for scholars, researchers, diplomats and tourists.

… I felt great happiness after the great resonance that I was able to achieve by writing these two books in Jordan, and in a number of regions of the world, especially in Azerbaijan and among the Azerbaijani media and cultural institutions... This success was crowned by the relevant authorities in Azerbaijan by translating these two books into the Azerbaijani language.

… On this occasion, two big ceremonies were held in the capital, Baku, where I was honored. I am hastily quoting excerpts from important Azerbaijani personalities/

-His Excellency Dr. Rafik Aliyev/ Former Minister of Religious Affairs and Head of the Center for Islamic Studies said: Al-Armouti focused on the similarity and congruence of views between Azerbaijan and Jordan and the policy of moderation between the two countries.

- Dr. Sona Khanum Faliyeva, owner of Kaspi newspaper and founder of the Association of Journalists of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, said: The historian Armouti, in his books on Azerbaijan, has feelings of love and friendship towards Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people.

-Dr. Fadel Abbasov/ President of the Association of Journalists, members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and founder of the association, said: that the association has translated two books of the historian Armouti on Azerbaijan, named / the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and international law, and the book on Jordanian-Azerbaijan relations.

-As for Professor Dr. Musa Qasimli, an academic at the University of Baku and a member of the Azerbaijani parliament, he said: The two books published by Al-Armouti contain important information... These two books are now considered references for bachelor's, master's and doctoral students.

……… It is worth noting that the deceased of the homeland, His Excellency Sheikh Marwan Abdul Halim Al-Nimr Al-Hamoud, honored me by writing the introduction of my book on Jordanian-Azerbaijan relations as President of the Jordanian-Azerbaijani Friendship Association and as Chairman of the Jordanian-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Fraternity Committee.

…. I quote here with this haste a part of his introduction, may God have mercy on him..... The late His Excellency Marwan Al-Hamoud said in his introduction to my book the following:

… There is a relationship of friendship and brotherhood between the late great Azerbaijani leader Heydar Aliyev and the late His Majesty King Hussain Bin Talal, may Allah rest his soul.

… He is an experienced politician, and I, as president of the Jordanian-Azerbaijani Friendship Association, support every joint work between the two countries. There have been previous activities carried out by the Jordanian-Azerbaijan Friendship Association, including continuous cultural activities that I call for development and growth. I support the establishment of Jordanian cultural days in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku.

… As the Jordanian-Azerbaijani Friendship Association, we previously visited the capital, Baku, and held a meeting there with the Azerbaijani-Jordanian Parliamentary Friendship Committee. This had a great impact on our souls and the souls of those in charge of that association... On this occasion, I would like to say that we met with His Excellency the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and we talked about all topics of interest to the relationship that binds His Excellency with His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Jordanian people at all levels.

… Historian Omar Al-Armouti’s publication of his new book entitled "Important Stops in the Jordanian-Azerbaijani Relations” confirms the close relations between the two friendly countries.

This was a quote from the introduction of the deceased, the late His Excellency Marwan Al-Hamoud, to this book of mine.

… On the occasion of our celebration today, I bid farewell to the soul of the great deceased of Jordan, His Excellency Sheikh Marwan Abdul Halim Al-Nimr Al-Hamoud/Sheikh of Sult and its wise man, who was a unique personality and it is very difficult to replace him, as he left behind a great void.

… We wept for you, Aba al-Abed, because you were a lofty Jordanian national figure, a beloved personality, a friend of brotherhood, a solver of problems, loyal to your homeland, Jordan, and to the people of your dear city, the glorious Sult.

… And we always remember the chants of the Sulti and Balqawi women when they welcomed you during the celebrations, the beginning of which was: Sheikh of the Balqa, O Ibn Hammoud.

…. And we also say: for someone like you Marwan Al-Hmoud let women cry.

… In conclusion, on the occasion of our celebration today of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Jordan and Azerbaijan, I say: 

-Greetings of love, respect and appreciation sent to the champion of liberation / the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, His Excellency President Ilham Heydar Aliyev / friend of His Majesty King Abdullah II and friend of Jordan.

-Long live the Jordanian-Azerbaijani friendship.

-Long live Jordan, the beating heart of Arabism.

-Long live Azerbaijan/ mermaid of Caspian Sea.
