Nayrouz News Agency :

His Majesty King Abdullah and Egypt President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Monday discussed the deep-rooted bilateral ties, as well as regional developments, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause.

At a bilateral meeting followed by an expanded one held in New El Alamein City, the two leaders expressed pride in the level of relations between the two countries, highlighting the need to expand bilateral cooperation, and trilateral collaboration with Iraq, especially in economic and trade areas.

King Abdullah and President El Sisi agreed on the need to move forward with implementing the outcomes of the Joint Jordanian-Egyptian Higher Committee meetings convened in Amman recently.

His Majesty commended the efforts of Egypt and President El Sisi to host the trilateral Jordanian-Egyptian-Palestinian summit.

The King reaffirmed the need to support the Palestinians in seeking to attain their just and legitimate rights, and to carry on with efforts to break the stalemate in the peace process to reach a just and comprehensive settlement, on the basis of the two-state solution.

The two leaders agreed on the importance of maintaining consultation and coordination on various issues of mutual concern, in service of the two countries and peoples, and in service of Arab causes.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, General Intelligence Department Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Husni, Jordan’s Ambassador in Cairo Amjad Adaileh, and a number of senior Egyptian officials attended the meeting.
