Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, Maher Nafsh, on Tuesday evening inaugurated the 14th edition of "Jordanian-Arab photograph Festival" in Royal Cultural Center.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, organized by the Jordan photographic Society(JPS), its president, Wael Hijazin, noted the festival aims to direct interest of professional and amateur photographers to capture serene landscape in the Kingdom's various regions and enrich the Jordanian aesthetic visual content, which contributes to the Kingdom's tourism marketing efforts.
Hijazin noted this endeavor seeks to highlight the country's cultural, heritage and archaeological destinations, as well as popular customs, traditions and culture, and raise awareness on preserving environment and wild life in Jordan.
On its competitions, he said 2023 edition features two main axes; the first focuses on heritage, tourism and architectural excellence, adding that participation is open to Jordanian and Arab photographers.
According to Hijazin, the second axis is related to environmental diversity (wild life) in Jordan.
