Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Ahmad Safadi met on Sunday with the President of the Jordan Press Association (JPA) Rakan Saaydeh.
Safadi and Saaydeh stressed that the Lower House and the press are partners in monitoring various aspects of public affairs, underscoring the need for everyone to assume their national responsibilities in light of the dangers that the Palestinian territories and the Gaza Strip are witnessing as a result of the brutal aggression carried out by the Israeli occupation forces.
During the meeting, Safadi said that the Lower House is committed to providing various forms of support and the facilitations necessary to foster the mission and work of various media outlets, especially the Radio and Television Corporation, pointing out that he will follow up on the professional path issue of the Jordan TV and the Jordan News Agency (Petra) employees.
For his part, Saaydeh underlined the JPA's commitment to defend its members, pointing to the importance of coordination between the Lower House and the Association on legislation that concerns journalists.
