The United States State Department announced that Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Barbara Leaf has departed on a visit to Jordan and the region.
The United States Embassy said in a press statement on Thursday that the visit comes to consult with regional partners and advance efforts to prevent the conflict in the Middle East from spreading.
During the visit, Leaf will discuss humanitarian solutions to protect civilians while reiterating the United States support for a region that advances the aspirations of all its people.
In addition to Jordan, Leaf will also visit the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Egypt, and Israel, with the possibility of adding other stops.
