Jordan is poised for impending weather shifts on Tuesday as a persistent low-pressure system hovers over the region, primarily centered around Cyprus. Therefore, a noticeable temperature decline is forecast, leading to relatively cold and partly to mostly cloudy conditions.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), intermittent rainfall is forecast across the north and central regions tomorrow. This precipitation may extend sporadically towards the southern and eastern areas, possibly intensifying in certain western parts, including the Dead Sea region. Thunderstorms and hail might accompany moderate winds, fluctuating between westerly and northwesterly directions.

The weather report raised advisory concerns for potential road hazards due to slippery conditions, and potential flash floods in valley and low-lying western regions, including the Dead Sea area. Reduced visibility is expected in desert areas due to dust, and cloud-hugging mountains may cause low visibility.

On Wednesday, the Kingdom is expected to maintain relatively cold conditions with partial to mostly cloudy skies, with a possibility of sporadic light rainfall in various parts of the nation, notably in the eastern regions. Moderate and mainly northwesterly winds will prevail, occasionally gaining momentum.

As Wednesday progresses into the evening, gradual weather stabilization is expected with decreasing cloud cover and wind speeds. Nighttime may bring about fog formation over mountainous areas and plains.

Thursday indicates a marginal temperature rise, maintaining a pleasant climate in most areas and moderately in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

Today’s peak temperatures will be between 21 and 19 degrees Celsius in Amman and various highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 14 or even 12C in the southern highlands at night. The Gulf city of Aqaba will have sweltering weather, with highs of 28C and lows of 20C.
