JEBA Symposium Focuses on Boosting Energy#44; Water Efficiency in Tourism Sector
Nayrouz News Agency :
The Jordan Europe Business Association (JEBA), in collaboration with the Amman Chamber of Commerce, organized a specialized symposium on Monday aimed at enhancing energy and water efficiency in tourism sector facilities.

The event, attended by representatives from various economic sectors, aligns with JEBA's ongoing efforts to support Jordan's transition toward a sustainable green economy.

JEBA Secretary General Fawaz Qattan emphasized the association’s pivotal role in fostering economic cooperation between Jordan and European Union countries, which has enabled local companies to leverage European expertise and gain access to European markets.

He highlighted the importance of providing energy- and water-saving devices to various sectors in Jordan, noting that the country was among the first to adopt high-quality specifications for such devices to help reduce operating costs.

Hussam Saleh, JEBA's Director General, underscored the association's commitment to strengthening economic ties between Jordan and the EU. He outlined how this cooperation contributes to the national economy by enhancing competitiveness, attracting investments, boosting trade exchange, and building strategic partnerships.

He also noted JEBA's efforts to support the industrial, energy, and tourism sectors by attracting European tourists and marketing Jordan as an appealing tourist destination, while fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship to create a conducive business environment.

Ghaida Makahleh, representing the Dutch Experts Program, highlighted the program's significance in transferring advanced Dutch expertise to Jordanian companies and institutions. She explained that the program enhances administrative and technical competencies, particularly for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), by offering support through a network of retired Dutch experts who possess extensive experience in various fields.

Makahleh further elaborated that the Dutch Experts Program, which includes over 1,800 experts across numerous economic sectors such as food security, health, and education, aims to facilitate the transfer of knowledge from the Netherlands to countries like Jordan. This initiative supports the growth and development of SMEs by providing them with tailored consultations, training, and technical assistance.
