The Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) Wednesday met with a Chinese delegation from Shandong Province to strike partnerships between the business communities in both countries.
Specialists of Chinese car and tractor companies are visiting Jordan for cooperation prospects.
The representative of the ACC automotive, machinery and heavy equipment sector Salama Jabali, said, "China is an important trade partner for the Kingdom in various commercial sectors," adding that the Kingdom is the "largest" market for electric cars in the Middle East.
Jabali discussed holding meetings between the business communities on both sides to learn about available opportunities and establish joint projects to increase economic cooperation and growing trade exchanges between the two countries.
He urged Chinese companies to invest in Jordan in recycling and producing electric car batteries and to benefit from the advantages and incentives offered by the Kingdom to investors.
The head of the Foreign Trade Department at the Commerce Department in the province and head of the delegation, Mei Li Ying, said exports of electric cars from the province to Jordan are increasing, as their sales last year reached nearly $83 million.
