Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon Saturday discussed stopping the Israeli aggression in Lebanon, Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
In a meeting on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Safadi and Fajon discussed regional developments, especially in Lebanon, Gaza and the occupied West Bank and holy sites in occupied East Jerusalem.
The two ministers discussed efforts for a political horizon to achieve a just, lasting and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, establishing an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Safadi praised Slovenia in its capacity as the chair of the Security Council for urging an end to the Israeli war on Gaza, its recognition of the Palestinian state and support for the Palestinian people's right to freedom and statehood.
