Jordan Welcomes Libyan Nationals Without Prior Approval to Boost Medical Tourism
Nayrouz News Agency :

The Ministry of Interior has announced that Libyan nationals can now enter Jordan without prior approval, coinciding with the resumption of Royal Jordanian Airlines' flights to Tripoli after a decade-long suspension.

These decisions are the result of recent meetings held by Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan with leaders of health unions and stakeholders in the medical tourism sector. Discussions emphasized the need to streamline procedures related to medical tourism and capitalize on Jordan's positive reputation in the healthcare field.

Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya stated that the ministry's new directive allows Libyan nationals to travel to Jordan without needing prior approval. The simplified travel requirements now only necessitate possession of valid passports with at least three months' validity. Libyan visitors can obtain entry visas through the electronic visa portal or upon arrival at border crossings.

Al-Faraya highlighted that this initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance governmental facilitation, aimed at bolstering the national economy and attracting investors, business-people, and tourists seeking medical treatment in Jordan.

The Economic Modernization Vision outlines a strategy to establish Jordan as a global tourism destination, focusing on various sectors including cultural, natural, medical, wellness, religious tourism, conference tourism, and film production.

The recent policy changes are expected to enhance the marketing of Jordan's medical tourism products, particularly targeting interested visitors from Libya.
