The President of the Pharmacists Union in Al-Dhalea Governorate, Maeen Fadhel Mohammed Qassem, issued a strong warning regarding the dangers of using medications that have not been stored according to proper health guidelines. This warning follows observations of several pharmacies failing to adhere to the required storage instructions, risking the effectiveness of the medications.
Qassem emphasized that medications exposed to high temperatures or excessive humidity may lose their effectiveness or even become harmful to health. Improper storage conditions can lead to chemical changes that affect the drug’s composition, increasing the risk of adverse effects for patients.
He stressed the importance of educating the public, as well as medical and pharmaceutical professionals, about the significance of proper medication storage. Maintaining appropriate storage conditions is essential to ensuring the effectiveness of treatments and protecting public health.
The Union President also called for training healthcare workers and pharmacists on proper storage practices and the need to provide environments that preserve the quality of medications.
He concluded by stating that the responsibility lies with all healthcare professionals, including pharmacists, doctors, and medical institutions, to ensure the health and safety of the public.
