The Government of Sudan condemns the criminal attack carried out by the terrorist Rapid Support Forces militia on Friday, February 6, 2026, targeting World Food Programme trucks with drones. The trucks were carrying out humanitarian missions to deliver food aid to affected civilians in North Kordofan State, specifically in the areas of Allah Karim, Al-Samih, Al-Rahad, and the city of Umm Ruwaba. This attack resulted in casualties and the destruction of relief supplies intended for humanitarian response.
The Government affirms that targeting relief convoys and humanitarian assets constitutes a grave violation of the principles of international humanitarian law, particularly the Geneva Conventions, and represents a deliberate undermining of efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to those in need.
The Government of Sudan draws the attention of the international community to the fact that this attack is not an isolated incident, but rather a continuation of the terrorist militia's pattern of obstructing humanitarian work and using food deprivation as a means of pressuring civilians. This occurs in full view of the international community, which has remained silent in the face of these war crimes that demand accountability. In this context, the Sudanese government calls upon the international community to unequivocally condemn these practices and take the necessary measures to ensure that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and its backers are held accountable.
The Sudanese government reiterates its commitment to full cooperation with the United Nations and its humanitarian agencies, and to doing everything necessary to ensure the unimpeded delivery of aid to those in need.
