Kingdom records one COVID19 case on Thursday
Nayrouz News Agency : The Kingdom on Thursday registered one new case of the coronavirus, bringing the caseload to 402, according to Health Minister Saad Jaber.

During a press conference broadcast live from the Prime Ministry, Jaber said that the new patient was in quarantine in Amman and was confirmed to be infected after he went to his parents’ house in Irbid.

The patient was sent to the isolation department at the King Abdullah University Hospital in Irbid, Jaber said.

A total of 1,972 tests were conducted nationwide on Thursday, including 106 tests on drivers entering the Kingdom from Saudi Arabia through the Omari border crossing, he noted, stressing that all results came back negative.

Over the next 48 hours during the comprehensive curfew, the ministry will require all truck drivers who entered the Kingdom after April 1 to undergo coronavirus tests, he added.

The minister noted that the results of all random tests conducted at the Baqaa, Jerash and Souf camps for Palestinian refugees came back negative, stressing that the drop of registered confirmed cases in Jordan "does not mean the end of the pandemic in any way”.

He called on all to abide by government regulations regarding the curfew, continue social distancing and adopt proper health habits to fight the spread of the disease.
