Jordan backs int’l call for humanitarian truce in Libya
Nayrouz News Agency : The Foreign Ministry on Sunday welcomed a joint statement by foreign ministers of France, Germany, Italy and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy calling for a humanitarian truce in Libya and urging the con to resume talks towards a ceasefire and continue peace talks.

Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi reaffirmed the Kingdom's underpinning for the statement, and supported the call of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Acting Special Representative for Libya Stephanie Turco Williams for a humanitarian truce in Libya, according to a ministry statement.

Safadi highlighted that the Kingdom is adding its voice to the call for opposing parties in Libya to turn to dialogue, reject violence and cooperate to face common challenges, the most prominent of which are the coronavirus pandemic and its repercussions.

Safadi also stressed the importance of responding to the UN Secretary General’s appeal to stop all conflicts.
