Nayrouz News Agency : Ten flights carrying 1,976 passengers have arrived in the Kingdom from Cairo, Jeddah, Dubai, Istanbul, London, Riyadh and Abu Dhabi since the second phase of repatriating Jordanian students and citizens began on Friday.

The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, in coordination with various security agencies, government institutions and Queen Alia International Airport, is receiving the students and citizens, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The second stage has included bringing home passengers from 12 countries, according to Khaled Shantir, head of the airport's security and protection department, who added that further details will be announced later on.

Specialised medical teams received the passengers upon their arrival to the airport and conducted precautionary tests on each passenger. All luggage has been disinfected, he said.

The passengers were offered free mobile lines to call their families.

After each flight, the airport was sterilised and disinfected as part of the precautionary measures to contain and halt the COVID-19 outbreak, Petra added.

A total of 223 Arab nationals and foreigners have departed the Kingdom during the last 48 hours, according to Shantir.
