Ministry designates free-Internet sites for Syrian refugee students to take university examsThe Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on Wednesday announced that university-level Syrian students who are residing in Zaatari and Azraq refugee camps will be provided with free Internet services while taking their final exams.

The ministry, in a statement, announced the designation of nine new sites, including schools affiliated to the Ministry of Education, at which free Internet services are available for Syrian students who are studying at Jordanian universities.

The statement added that the ministry has coordinated with UNHCR to identify the number of beneficiaries of the initiative, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The ministry expressed its keenness to address all obstacles that may face students regarding this semester’s online final exams, especially for those lacking access to the Internet.

It also expressed its readiness to support public and private universities to ensure the success of the e-learning system, which is a "strategic choice” for the Kingdom during this stage.

University-level students are invited to visit http://rce.mohe.gov.jo/Labs/ to learn about all sites available in their governorates, the ministry said, also calling on them to adhere to public safety standards, including wearing gloves and face masks and observing physical distancing practices.

The ministry had previously announced the allocation of 1,790 sites where Internet services are available for free for university-level students, as these spots are distributed across the Kingdom, so that students do not leave the districts or governorates where they live, a measure taken to ensure their safety.
