Jordan registers 15 new virus cases, one of them local
Nayrouz News Agency :

Fifteen new COVID-19 cases, including one local infection, were registered in the Kingdom on Thursday, increasing the caseload to 1,086, the government announced.

The new cases included 13 Jordanians returning from abroad — two from Saudi Arabia, two from Kuwait, two from Palestine, two from the UAE, two from Iraq and three from Pakistan — who have been in quarantine at designated hotels.

Among the new cases was a non-Jordanian truck driver who tested positive at the Omari border crossing, the statement added.

The local infection was reported among the cadres working at the Dead Sea quarantine sites, a Prime Ministry statement said.

Also on Thursday, 15 recovered patients left Prince Hamzah Hospital, while 6,325 virus tests were conducted, bringing the cumulative number of coronavirus tests administered since the beginning of the crisis to 355,004, according to the statement.

The Ministry of Health has renewed its call on citizens to use the "Aman” (Safety) application, which alerts users if they come into contact with a person infected with the virus.

The ministry also urged those who have received alerts from the app to "quickly visit specialised health centres and laboratories” for testing.
