Bayer launches ‘Hayah’ initiative to support daily labourers
Nayrouz News Agency : Bayer, the German-based multinational pharmaceutical and life sciences company, has launched the "Hayah” initiative, which aims to support daily laborers most affected by the pandemic.

The initiative is carried out in partnership with Naua, which is a social impact platform created by the Crown Prince Foundation to promote a culture of philanthropy and civic engagement, according to a company statement.

The initiative is part Bayer’s corporate social responsibility towards the Jordanian community, particularly during challenging times such as the global COVID-19 crisis, read the statement.

As part of the initiative, daily workers and their families receive health kits that include protective and sanitary items such as masks, gloves, soap and hand sanitiser, as well as an informative brochure to raise awareness about COVID-19 means of protection, disinfection and physical distancing.

"Hayah” is closely aligned with the "Daily Workers Support Campaign”, which was incepted by Naua to collect donations from individuals and private sector institutions to extend food aid to daily labourers across the Kingdom.

"Through the ‘Hayah’ initiative, we are bringing attention to the COVID-19 pandemic and educating people — especially the most vulnerable segments of society — on the precautionary actions necessary for safeguarding their health and wellbeing, while curbing the spread of the virus and mitigating its adverse impact,” Managing Director of Bayer Samer Al Faqih said in the statement.

"Our new vision, ‘health for all, hunger for none’, sets the foundation for our future and serves as the mark by which we measure all activity across our company. We at Bayer are convinced that with our scientific expertise and innovative strength, we can make a significant contribution to ensuring that one day this vision becomes reality,” Faqih added.

CEO of Naua Ahmad Al Zubi said: "We are extremely grateful for the generosity and contribution of Bayer to support our COVID-19 crisis campaigns that were launched to help the most vulnurable and affected segments of society due to the virus outbreak and the government measures to contain it.”

"Through the contributions of organisations and individuals over the past three months, Naua has been able to impact the lives of more than half a million individuals around the Kingdom who are mostly daily labourers and their families. On behalf of all beneficiaries, we would like to extend our gratitude and thanks to Bayer for their donation to the ‘Hayah’ initiative,” Zubi said.
