8 virus cases from abroad recorded Saturday
Nayrouz News Agency : Eight COVID-19 cases, all from abroad, were recorded in the Kingdom on Saturday, increasing the caseload to 1,154, according to the government.

The new cases comprised five arrivals to the Kingdom — two from Palestine, two from Syria and one from Saudi Arabia — who have been in quarantine at designated hotels, according to a joint statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.

The new cases also included three Jordanian truck drivers who tested positive at the Omari border crossing, the statement said.

Also on Saturday, six recovered patients left hospitals, five from Prince Hamzah Hospital and one from Queen Alia Hospital.

A total of 7,795 virus tests were also conducted on Saturday, bringing the cumulative number of coronavirus tests administered since the beginning of the crisis to 559,451, according to the statement.

On Friday, the Kingdom recorded 15 COVID-19 cases, including one local infection, according to a government statement.

The local case is a doctor working at Al Hussein Hospital in Ein Al Basha. Epidemiological investigation teams are working to discover the source of the local infection, according to a government statement.

Amid the resurgence of the epidemic in various countries, including neighbouring states, the Health Ministry has warned against any practices that violate public health and safety, notably those related to gatherings that exceed 20 people.

The ministry called on the public to abide by precautionary measures, mainly wearing face masks and maintaining physical distancing.

The ministry also highlighted the need for using "Aman” (Safety) application, which alerts users if they come into contact with a person infected with the virus, and "Sahtak” (your health) application for smartphones, which provides users with the latest information and news related to the COVID-19 disease, in addition to guidelines and warnings pertaining to the Kingdom’s epidemiological status.
