Prime Minister-designate Bisher Khasawneh on Thursday began consultations over the formation of a new Cabinet, holding a meeting with Senate President Faisal Fayez.
His Majesty King Abdullah has tasked Bisher Khasawneh with forming the new Cabinet to follow Omar Razzaz’s Cabinet.
King Abdullah accepted the resignation of Razzaz’s Cabinet on Saturday, October 3, 2020.
A Royal decree was issued on September 27 to dissolve Parliament at the end of its four-year term, a move under constitutional provisions meant the government had to resign within a week.
Fayez, during the meeting, reiterated the Senate’s commitment to cooperate with the new Cabinet to serve the national interest, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The prime minister-designate, Khasawneh, affirmed commitment to His Majesty’s directives, notably those included in the Royal Letter of Designation, as well as holding consultations with the legislative authority, for the best interest of the country.
