Jordan imported a total of 253,600 barrels of Iraqi crude oil in September at an average of 8,560 barrels per day, according to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
In a statement on Thursday, Minister Hala Zawati said that 857 Iraqi tanker trucks were unloaded on the border (back-to-back) following the COVID-19 pandemic.
She stated that a total of 2.958 million barrels of Iraqi crude oil were supplied to the Kingdom during August 31, 2019, to September 31, 2020, at an average of 7,545 barrels per day transported through 11,152 Iraqi and Jordanian tanker trucks from the Baiji oil refinery in Iraq to the Jordan Petroleum Refinery in Zarqa.
Jordan purchases Iraqi oil under a memorandum of understanding signed in February 2019.
