Nayrouz News Agency :
Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Monday emphasised the "deep-rooted and brotherly” relations between Jordan and Kuwait, and the common interest to further broaden cooperation in various fields.

Welcoming Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al Mohammed Al Sabah and an accompanying delegation, Khasawneh said that "Jordanian-Kuwaiti ties are a model for relations between nations, thanks to the interest and care of His Majesty King Abdullah and his brother Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah”.

During the meeting, which was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Kuwaiti Ambassador Aziz Al Daihani, the premier said that the challenges facing the Arab countries require joint efforts to maximise joint Arab action and rebuild inter-Arab relations, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Khasawneh also commended the existing cooperation between Jordan and Kuwait, and the Kingdom’s keenness to attract more Kuwaiti investments and provide the necessary facilities to investors, pointing out that despite the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on various sectors, it has created opportunities for promising sectors in which the two countries can invest.

The Kuwaiti foreign minister affirmed his country’s keenness to strengthen relations with Jordan, noting that the Kuwaiti leadership, government and people appreciated the participation of His Majesty King Abdullah and HRH Crown Prince Hussein in offering condolences over the passing of Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah.

The minister also said that Kuwait is keen to maintain joint cooperation and consultation with Jordan on various regional and international issues.

He also expressed appreciation to the Kingdom for sending medical aid to Kuwait at the onset of the pandemic, adding that the repercussions of COVID-19 require finding sustainable solutions to its impacts on the economy and other sectors.

He also voiced Kuwait’s interest in boosting its investments in Jordan, noting that the Kingdom is a state of law and institutions, Petra reported.
