A Jordanian student team from the Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) and the Yarmouk University has won the first place in the 2020 Huawei ICT Competition held via teleconference with the participation of 109 teams representing 39 countries.
The team, supervised by Ashraf Sabha from PSUT, included Zaid Afaneh and Mohammad Abu Shukor from PSUT's King Abdullah II School of Engineering and Mansour Al Hamoud from the Yarmouk University, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Sunday, citing a PSUT statement.
HRH Princess Sumaya, chairperson of the PSUT board of trustees, congratulated the team and their supervisor on their achievement, which "proves their excellence and entrepreneurship”, pledging all forms of support to students and their participation in various international competitions.
Sabha said that the competition came in two tracks: Networks and cloud computing, which aimed at assessing students' capabilities in information and communication technology, practical skills and teamwork using the Internet of Things, big data and artificial intelligence.
