His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday met with Armenian President Armen Sarkissian at Al Husseiniya Palace and discussed bilateral ties and means to bolster cooperation across all sectors.
The meeting covered joint efforts to counter COVID-19 and its health and socioeconomic implications, as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern, especially efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East, according to a Royal Court statement.
King Abdullah stressed the need to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution, which guarantees the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and viable Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
His Majesty also stressed the importance of moving forward in reaching a peaceful settlement of the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, in accordance with international law and UN resolutions, in order to ensure security and stability.
Senior Jordanian and Armenian officials attended the meeting.
