Nayrouz News Agency : - The cost of three hospitals the government is setting up to treat
coronavirus patients is estimated at JD16 million fully funded from the
state's treasury (the coronavirus fund), Minister of Public Works and
Housing Yahia Kesbi said Sunday.
He told Petra that the three
hospitals, which will be built in the northern, central and southern
regions will have a total combined capacity of 950 beds and will be
ready by mid next month, stressing that all government stakeholders are
ramping up efforts to cement the health system's response and management
of the pandemic.
The hospitals, the minister explained, will
ensure that each bed is placed in a 6-sqm area and will have a "green
zone" to accommodate medical staff, indicating that the hospital that is
being built in Amman will have 12,000 cubic meters of oxygen tanks while
the Irbid and Ma'an hospitals will have 9,000 cubic meters of oxygen
tanks each.
Kesbi emphasized that the ministry is working at full
thrust to deliver the hospitals on time given the urgent need that
requires the completion of the project in the shortest period.
