Private medics receive training on COVID treatment protocols
Nayrouz News Agency :  Chairman of the Private Hospitals Association Fawzi Hammouri Monday stressed that the association is committed to ensuring that medical and nursing staff at private hospitals receive proper training on the treatment protocols of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Hammouri was speaking at a virtual workshop on the management of acute respiratory failure organized by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the Royal Medical Services and the Jordanian-American Physicians Association.

The meeting aimed at introducing and familiarizing the participants with the latest recommendations and protocols for the treatment of acute respiratory failure caused by the novel coronavirus.

According to Hammouri, the meeting provides an excellent opportunity for participants to obtain global knowledge and experience, voicing the hope that such knowhow helps in improving survival and recovery rates.

He noted that the association is currently carrying out a project in cooperation with the USAID that offers training to more than 600 private hospitals medical professionals on the treatment and management of coronavirus cases.

USAID Director of Population and Family Health Office Daniel Sinclair said that the workshop is part of the agency's commitment to supporting the Ministry of Health and other national health stakeholders in their response to the pandemic, in addition to upgrading healthcare services to overcome challenges imposed by the crisis.
