PM directs authorities to strengthen monitoring on COVID care price ceiling
Nayrouz News Agency :
Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Wednesday directed the Health Ministry and other relevant agencies to stiffen monitoring procedures on the price ceiling the government had put in place for the treatment of COVID-19 patients at private hospitals.

Heading a Cabinet session, Khasawneh highlighted the importance of following up on all relevant complaints received at the Health Ministry and proceeding with legal actions against any institution proved to violate the prices set, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Meanwhile, the Council of Ministers extended the final date for foreign workers to leave the Kingdom and benefit from exemptions from fines until May 31, 2021.

The decision took into consideration the hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the airport closures in many countries, which in some cases has prevented timely departure of foreign workers from the Kingdom.

The Cabinet also endorsed the 2020 companies liquidation bylaw aimed at organising the liquidation procedures for companies that are not subject to the Insolvency Law and other relevant regulations.

The Council of Ministers also approved the recommendations of the Settlement and Reconciliation Committee, which was formed for settling pending lawsuits between 770 companies and individuals on one side and the Income and Sales Tax Department on the other.
