The government on Monday voiced commitment to partnership with professional associations towards increasing profession skills level and improving the living conditions of unions' members.
During his meeting with the president of the Professional Associations Council and presidents of several professional associations, Prime Minister Bisher Al Khasawneh underlined the "pivotal national roles of the professional associations and their contributions to the country's development".
"Professional associations have produced leaderships that participated in the Kingdom’s development and have created an added value to the state’s administrative body and general political performance," Khasawneh said in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
With improvement in epidemiological situation, the premier pledged to hold the professional associations' elections gradually as of next spring.
Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs Mousa Maaytah said that the meeting with professional associations came as part of the government’s meetings with representatives of the civil society to brainstorm and share ideas over national issues.
President of the Professional Associations Council Abdul Hadi Falahat, who is also president of the Jordan Agricultural Engineers Association, said that the meeting tackled issues that affect the life of citizens at the political and economic levels.
