Jordan, Turkey hold political consultation
Nayrouz News Agency :
A Jordan-Turkey political consultation session was held on Tuesday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss regional developments and ways to bolster the "historical” bilateral relations, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Foreign Ministry Secretary General Ambassador Yousef Bataineh headed the Jordanian side, with the participation of Ambassador Daifallah Fayez, while the Turkish side was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Onal, accompanied by Turkish Ambassador to Jordan Ismail Aramaz.

Bataineh and Onal reviewed ways to advance "the historical fraternal relations” in various fields, especially pertaining to economy, investment, academia, tourism and cooperation in light of the exceptional circumstances and challenges in the region, which were exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic and its repercussions.

They emphasised the continuation of signing of agreements and institutionalising work in service of common interests under the directives of the leaderships of the two countries.

Both sides reviewed regional developments, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, stressing the need to strengthen cooperation to ensure growth and stability in the region and meet the aspirations of its peoples.

Onal praised the efforts exerted by Jordan under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah in establishing security, stability and peace in the region.
