PM mourns passing of former media minister Nabil Sharif

Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Saturday mourned the death of former media minister Nabil Sharif who died earlier in the day.

Khasawneh paid tribute to Sharif's efforts while in public service, expressing condolences to his family, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Sharif also served as senator, ambassador to Morocco and Mauritania, chairman of the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation and the Jordan News Agency, Petra, and editor in chief of Ad Dustour daily.

He also received several medals and local and international certificates of appreciation. Also on Saturday, Senate President Faisal Fayez mourned the death of Sharif and paid tribute to his efforts in the Jordanian media sector, expressing his condolences to the Sharif family, according to Petra.

Minister of State for Media Affairs Ali Al Ayed also mourned the death of Sharif and commended his efforts while in public service.
