The University of Jordan (UJ) ranked among the best universities in the world in three subject areas and a number of academic subjects, according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021.
The UJ ranked 290 in the social sciences and management area, 360 in engineering and technology, and 369 in arts and humanities, according to a UJ statement.
The UJ ranked among the top 150 universities worldwide in the subject of nursing, among the top 300 universities in business and management subject, and among the top 250 in pharmacy and in computer science and information systems subjects, the statement said.
It added that the UJ ranked first in Jordan in the arts and humanities area, social sciences and management, and in the subjects: Computer science and information systems, agriculture, nursing, pharmacy, chemistry, chemical engineering, mathematics, business and management, and educational sciences.
The ranking, which is published annually by the British organisation QS, is the most influential discipline-wise global ranking. It ranks the world’s top universities in five broad subject areas and in 51 disciplines, according to the statement.
The ranking assessed about 1453 universities throughout the world according to a number of indicators, including academic reputation, employer reputation and the number of citations per researcher in scientific publications, concluded the statement.
