His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday received Egypt Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli, who is heading a high-level ministerial delegation for the joint Jordanian-Egyptian Higher Committee meetings.
During the meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace, Prime Minister Madbouli conveyed the greetings of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to King Abdullah, and his invitation to attend the inauguration of the 3rd of July Naval Base in Gargoub, according to a Royal Court statement.
His Majesty asked the prime minister to convey his greetings to President El Sisi, underscoring the deep-rooted, brotherly ties between the two countries, and keenness to enhance them across various sectors.
Discussions at the meeting covered means of expanding cooperation between Jordan and Egypt, and joint efforts to counter COVID-19 and its implications, as well as maintaining coordination and consultation on issues of mutual concern, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, and the trilateral mechanism of Jordanian-Egyptian-Iraqi cooperation.
