A computing team from Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) on Saturday won third place in the global competition SITA Hackathon 2021. According to a PSUT statement, a number of 300 students from different countries across the world participated in the virtual competition, which lasted for 10 days.
The winning team developed a smart application that helps travellers schedule their arrival time at the airport, reducing congestion and contact with the rest of the passengers, ensuring safety.
They also developed an automated assistant that answers all travel-related inquiries and questions. PSUT President Mashhoor Rifai praised the winners and supervisors, and the role of the faculty deanship in providing valuable opportunities to participate in such competitions, which are fundamentally reflected on students' abilities and skills, and contribute to earning a good reputation at international forum.
