Interior Minister Mazen Faraiah, on the occasion of Ramadan, instructed the concerned authorities to release 661 administrative detainees who are not listed as "dangerous people”.
Faraiah said that the decision was made after considering their files and ensuring that their release does not pose any threat to their lives or the security and public order of the country, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister added that the decision also aims at giving them an opportunity to reengage in society.
