Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Saturday carried out an inspection tour of the Amman central market for vegetables and fruits as well as the Amman Customs Centre, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During his first visit, Khasawneh stressed the necessity of continuing to provide agricultural products to people at reasonable prices and high quality.
The prime minister was briefed on the central market’s role in receiving, marketing and supplying vegetable produce.
He highlighted automating operations within the central market in a way that serves the interest of farmers and merchants as well as increasing the areas allocated for handling produce.
Also on Saturday Khasawneh, accompanied by Minister of Finance Mohamad Al-Ississ, visited the Amman Customs Centre, and was briefed on the operations carried out by the centre.
During the tour, he referred to the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah to facilitate customs procedures for the general public, investors and the commercial sector.
