His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday met in Washington, DC, with US Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
The meeting, attended by HRH Hussein, covered the partnership between Jordan and the United States.
Discussions covered the potential of Jordan joining the Global Entry programme, which would facilitate procedures of Jordanians’ entry to US airports, whereby the two countries agreed to sign the joint declaration, as the first step of joining the programme, in the upcoming period.
The meeting also covered the Aqaba Process initiative, launched by His Majesty to enhance coordination and cooperation among various regional and international stakeholders to counter terrorism and extremism within a holistic approach.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, and Jordan’s Ambassador in Washington, DC, Dina Kawar attended the meeting.
