Al Balqa Applied University is implementing a pioneering plan in the field of water engineering and technology, a university statement said.
Al Balqa Applied University has been working with IHE-Delft Institute of Water Education to benefit from the Dutch experience in the water sector, the statement added.
University President, Abdallah S. Al Zoubi met virtually with IHE-Delft Business Director Johan Aad van Dijk and discussed the progress of the project funded by the Dutch government.
The project is implemented under the Dutch Organisation for Internationalisation of Education (NUFFIC) within the Dutch Knowledge Programme (OKP) under the title "Promoting the development of skills for wastewater treatment and reuse in agriculture in the Higher Technical and Vocational Education and Training Programme in Jordan (WATRA)”.
The total value of the project is approximately 900,000 euros, the statement said.
During the meeting, Dijk reviewed the activities of the project and stressed the importance of implementing and activating the Regional Centre for Water Engineering and Technology at Al Balqa University, according to the statement.
Zou’bi added that the water engineering and technology centre at the university will provide innovative services to students, researchers, the community, and decision-makers, according the statement said.
