Cabinet approves fee relief for public transport companies

 The Cabinet on Wednesday approved the exemption of public transport companies from licensing fees, investment fees, as well as fines for the non-renewal of licences for the COVID-19 lockdown of 2021.

According to the decision, all public transport forms that have been affected by the pandemic will have 30 to 100 per cent exemptions from the annual licensing fees and investment fees for 2021. 

School transport companies, cross-border transport companies, transportation companies for official universities and hotel taxi companies will have a 100 per cent exemption from fees, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Bus rental companies, white-painted "service taxis” and public transport will have exemptions of up to 50 per cent. Rental car companies will have an exemption of up to 30 per cent.

The decision also allowed paying dues in installments, Petra reported.

The Council of Ministers also decided to appoint Nassar Al Habashneh as the Kingdom’s ambassador to the UAE, Maan Masadah as the ambassador to Brazil, Samer Al Naber as the ambassador to Singapore and Firas Khoury as the ambassador to Kenya.
