The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), in coordination with the Foreign Ministry, is following up on reports on the discovery of the mortal remains believed to be of a Jordanian soldier who died near the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood in Jerusalem during battles the JAF fought in June 1967, a JAF source said on Thursday.
The source said that the JAF is coordinating with the concerned authorities to carry out tests to determine the identity of the body that was found along with a knife, ring, helmet and a gas mask that belong to the JAF, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The source said that all relevant information will be released later by competent authorities.
