Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) President Nael Kabariti Saturday discussed with Jordanian Ambassador to the United Kingdom Manar Dabbas ways to enhance economic and trade ties with Britain and the role of the private sector in this endeavour.
Kabariti stressed during the meeting the key role of diplomatic representation in bolstering economic relations, and the need to pool resources in the next stage to overcome the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the JCC said in a press release.
He said the JCC seeks to promote commercial ties with the UK, through its robust membership in the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) Board of Directors, urging closer ties and expanding networks for cooperation and partnership between the business community in the Arab world and Britain, on the one hand, and Jordanian and British investors, on the other, especially in the medical tourism, ICT, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, banking and finance sectors.
Kabariti stressed coordination to hold a Jordan-UK economic conference, in cooperation with the ABCC, to enhance economic cooperation, increase the volume of trade and investment between the two countries and the transfer of expertise and know-how.
Ambassador Dabbas said the embassy was ready to coordinate with the JCC to direct investors and entities who wish to visit Jordan, and will provide them with all data to enhance trade and investment and arrange for holding the proposed economic conference.
