Temperatures on Wednesday are forecast to be 6-8 degrees below annual average, with chilly weather prevailing in most parts of the country and clouds at low altitudes, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
The weather department warned of frost formation in the early morning and at night in many areas, and of low horizontal visibility due to fog in mountainous areas.
On Thursday, cold weather conditions will persist despite a slight rise in temperatures, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds. At night, extremely cold weather will prevail.
Mercury levels will rise again on Friday, but relatively cold weather will remain in most parts of the Kingdom, while it will be pleasant in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.
Mercury in Amman today is forecast to reach a high of 10 degrees Celsius and a low of -2C at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a high of 18C, dipping to 8C during night hours.
