During the past few days, the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) dealt with three "qualitative" cases of drug trafficking and promotion, and arrested a group of suspects, in possession of large quantities of narcotics.
In a statement on Thursday, the media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said the AND also dealt with a counterfeit cash case locally, within its "intensive" campaigns carried out, as part of its efforts to confront all activities related to trafficking and promotion of narcotic substances.
In the first case, a suspect was arrested, and a kilogram of cocaine was seized in his possession in northern Irbid governorate.
In addition, a kilogram of crystal methamphetamine was also confiscated in the same case. The person was caught in possession of 23 hashish sheets, 2,000 narcotic pills and half a kilo of synthetic weed known as "Joker powder.
As for the second case, a dealer and promoter of narcotic substances was arrested in one of the northern Badia regions, and 35 hashish sheets and 12,000 Captagon pills were seized.
In the last case, the AND agents tracked down and nabbed a group of people, in possession of quantities of counterfeit cash, in an apartment in southern Amman. Crystal methamphetamine was also seized in the raid.
The spokesperson affirmed the AND will continue its security campaigns against drug dealers and promoters, and harnesses all its operational and logistical capabilities for these nationwide campaigns.
