-Secretary-General of the Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs (RCJA), Abdullah Kanaan, Abdullah Kanaan said Israeli incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque and attacks on unarmed worshippers represent "brutal" scenes.
This belligerence show Israel's criminal practices against Palestinian people and Jerusalem, in a manner that contradicts values of human dignity and rights to worship and live in peace, Kanaan pointed out.
In his interview with "Petra," he said these Israeli incursions and actions are a message to the free world and its legitimate organizations, that Israel, "the occupying power," is implementing de facto, racist apartheid laws in the occupied city of Jerusalem.
This Israeli approach, he noted, is a direct threat to the authority of international organizations that are supposed to be the incubators of peace, law and justice in the world.
Historical facts, Islamic documents, and all resolutions issued by the United Nations and its affiliated organizations, including UNESCO, affirm that Al-Aqsa Mosque - Haram al-Sharif, belongs exclusively to Muslims, he said.
Kanaan stressed that the Israeli dangerous measures aim at tampering with Al-Aqsa Mosque and then demolishing its yards to establish the alleged temple, which threatens international legitimacy and the region's security and peace.
In support and defense of Palestinian cause, the RCJA affirms Jordan's "firm position" and the historic custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, he said, adding that the Kingdom remain the supporter of Palestinian people and Jerusalem.
In this regard, Jordan supports the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and establishment of their Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the 1967 borders, he pointed out.
Kanaan also called on Israel to ends its actions "immediately" to achieve peace, security and stability, and comply with international legitimacy, respect agreements and Jerusalem's historic status quo and prevent its troops from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque.
