Senate President Faisal Fayez on Monday discussed with Romanian ambassador George Maior enhancing relations between the two countries.
They reaffirmed the deep-rooted Jordanian-Romanian ties and agreed on the need to address hindrances to promote cooperation.
Fayez underscored Jordan's position toward the situation in the region, especially the Palestinian issue, saying that Jordan has always called for political solutions and avoiding violence, killing and destruction.
A just solution to the Palestinian issue is the key to ending all conflicts in the region, he said, adding that such a settlement is only attainable through the two-state solution and the international legitimacy resolutions.
The Senate Head called for the international community, namely the European Union, to take a solid and unambiguous stand towards Israel's aggression against the Palestinians and Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
For his part, the Romanian envoy commended His Majesty King Abdullah's widely-recognised efforts and vital role to bring about peace and security and address various political and military conflicts peacefully.
He pointed to Jordanian-Romanian prospects for cooperation, stressing his country's commitment to advancing ties with Jordan in various fields.
