The German Jordanian University inaugurated the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and New Entrepreneurship and the Orange Digital Center Club, which was launched in partnership with Orange and the German Agency for International Cooperation to develop digital skills for university students to enhance their competitiveness in the labor market.
The ceremony, which was sponsored by a delegate of the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Secretary General of the Ministry Samira Al-Zoubi, attended the celebration of the German Jordanian University, German Ambassador in Amman Bernhard Kampmann, Agency Regional Director for Jordan Elizabeth Gerbach and CEO of Orange Jordan Thierry Marigny, and former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Labib Al-Khadra In addition to the two former university presidents, Dr. Nazeer Abu Obeid and Dr. Manar Fayyad.
University President Dr. Alaa El-Din Al-Halhouli said that the deanship is the first of its kind in Jordan and is characterized by combining employment services, relations with industry and innovation under one umbrella, due to the intertwining and importance of these topics.
Al-Halhouli added that the rapid development of technology requires us to take appropriate decisions to move forward, adapt to change and assume responsibility, considering that the origin of the idea came with the aim of creating solutions through entrepreneurship, developing ideas, and developing partnerships, such as those concluded with Orange Jordan in order to support young talents to lead change and confront future challenges.
For his part, CEO of Orange Jordan, Thierry Marigny, expressed his happiness with the opening of the club, as it embodies an important aspect of the company's efforts to promote digital inclusion and enable the largest number of university students throughout the Kingdom to learn digital skills.
