The Minister of Culture Haifa Al-Najjar said that the Amman International Book Fair, which will start in its 21st session in early September, will enhance the Jordanian cultural project at all levels.

Al-Najjar added, in a press conference held by the President of the Jordanian Publishers Association, Jaber Abu Fares, this morning, Wednesday, at the Royal Cultural Center in Amman, to announce the activities of the exhibition, that the program of events stems from a global pan-Arab values, raising the name of Jerusalem as a slogan for its session, and hosting the State of Kuwait as a guest of honor at the exhibition.

Abu Fares, in turn, said that the 21st session witnessed a great turnout from publishing houses, as 400 local, Arab and international publishing houses were approved, either directly or through a power of attorney to participate in the exhibition, adding that the exhibition, which is held at the Jordan Exhibition Center - Makkah Mall. , has become the most prominent local cultural event, and an important station on the map of Arab and international exhibitions to meet the parties of the publishing industry.

He added that the Amman exhibition is the only one among the Arab exhibitions on which a voluntary cultural body is based, not an official one, calling for the solidarity of the various authorities and national institutions with the Publishers Association in order to continue to establish this important cultural act in an institutional manner, and to continue its presence in the local cultural scene. And the Arab.

Abu Fares praised the efforts of the Jordanian publisher in spreading Jordanian culture, and its serious work to advance the publishing industry, through its participation in Arab exhibitions, its constant interaction with publishers, and its active presence in Arab cultural institutions, including the Council of the Arab Publishers Association, as Jordan holds the position of Secretary Assistant General, Chairman of the Arab Intellectual Property Committee, and Chairman of the System Amendment Committee, and the union has been an active member of the International Publishers Association for more than five years.

About 400 local, Arab and international publishing houses from 22 countries will participate in the exhibition, which will continue until the tenth of next September, accompanied by a diverse cultural program that includes cultural seminars, poetry and story evenings, recreational activities, and story readings for children and young people.

The exhibition committees, as in the previous sessions, maintained the slogan "Al-Quds, the capital of Palestine” to be present for this session, for what Al-Quds represents in the conscience of the Arab nation, and to confirm its Arabism and identity that rests in the hearts and minds of Arab Muslims and Christians and the free people of the world, and in line with the position of Jordan as king, government and people. And confirmation of the Hashemite guardianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

The exhibition’s cultural program includes a special symposium on Dr. Seif that sheds light on his rich and pioneering experience that began since the seventies of the last century in the field of television drama, poetry, translation, theater and scientific research, with the participation of a number of critics, writers, and academics.
