More than 500 social media influencers, content creators, and marketing professionals from across the Arab world gathered on the shores of the Dead Sea on Monday for a three-day forum on the influencer marketing industry and content development.
The gathering, titled "City Talk", is the first of its kind in the Arab region and will be held annually in various Arab cities.
The event, organized by the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) and Omnes Media, was opened by Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Nayef Fayez who deputized for His Majesty King Abdullah II.
The CEO of Omnes Media, Fahed Aldeeb, said: "Today we celebrate a group of Arab influencers from various fields and interests. Over the next few days, we will try to answer numerous questions regarding influencers, the content they produce, and how to transform influence into a positive economic and social force in the age of social media."
JTB General Manager Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, for his part, emphasized the importance of integrating traditional and new marketing channels to keep up with market trends and evolution, noting that the board collaborated with many Jordanian and non-Jordanian influencers to promote tourism in Jordan.
In order for Arab influencers to share their knowledge with their audiences and promote Jordan's tourism and heritage, the forum also includes field trips and visits to some of the most significant tourist destinations and sites in the Kingdom.
