An electrical load of 3,940 megawatts was recorded on Saturday evening, compared to a morning load of 3,610 megawatts, according to the National Electric Power Company's figures.
The company predicts that if the heat wave persists, the maximum load could go up to 4,000 megawatts.
The company has confirmed its capability to fulfill the demand for electric energy during the summer season by executing suitable operational plans and ensuring the preparedness of generation and transmission stations, as well as the transmission network, to accommodate the expected demand.
